What is a Red Drum Shed?
Drum sheds bring together drummers (and bassists are very welcome!) from all levels to jam, learn from each other, share ideas, and hang out in a friendly environment.
It's an all-ages event where we set up multiple drum kits and sometimes bass amps and percussion, bringing together players from all styles and experience levels to jam, trade 4s, and connect. It's fun, but also a chance to get inspired, improve your playing, and be around like-minded people.
It isn't a clinic or a competition — it's about encouraging each other and sharing ideas. Check out the videos below, and email us for more information or to book a shed near you.

FAQs
Are the sheds educational?
Absolutely. We want people to feel inspired to play drums and bass, and to discover new concepts and ideas. The feedback we most commonly hear is that sheds inspire people to practice, learn, and play more. We've had first-time drummers connect with a teacher at a shed, and spontaneous lessons break out regularly. We've also held sheds in collaboration with music schools such as All Ages Music in Sydney.
Where are the sheds held?
We're open to holding sheds anywhere — including a literal shed. We've hosted them in rehearsal rooms, church halls, lounge rooms, outdoors, in a library, and in warehouses.
What's the purpose of a Red Drum Shed?
Our hope is that everyone who comes to a shed leaves with new ideas and inspiration to take their playing further, and builds connections with others in their local community.
How does jamming with others help promote positive mental health?
There's no shortage of research showing strong links between making music and positive mental health. Sheds give people the chance to learn, improve, connect with others, and release built-up energy through playing.
If you've come along to a Red Drum Shed, please consider purchasing a $5 AUD ticket to help offset costs — any ticket purchase or donation can be applied as a credit toward drumsticks, cymbals, or other gear on the day. The costs of running these events include venue hire, travel and accommodation for the Red Shed team, equipment repairs, catering, and other expenses.
