FAQs

We love talking cymbals. Here are answers to the questions we get asked most often — if you don’t find what you’re looking for, send us a message below or reach out on socials.

About Our Cymbals

What is B20+ bronze and why does it matter?

B20 bronze is an alloy of approximately 80% copper and 20% tin — widely regarded as the premium standard for cymbal manufacturing. The higher tin content produces richer harmonics and greater tonal complexity compared to lower-grade alloys like B8. Our B20+ cymbals use the same alloy as the world’s most respected cymbal makers. We also offer B8 and Low Volume cymbals for those who need them.

How are they made?

Each cymbal is individually hammered, lathed, and finished by hand in Istanbul, Turkey — a tradition spanning centuries. We made a video walking through the full process: watch it here ↗

Where are they made?

B20 cymbals (including the Re.Vol. Reduced Volume series) — Istanbul, Turkey
Low Volume cymbals — China

Do you offer custom cymbals?

Yes. We offer custom orders for drummers with specific tonal requirements. Get in touch to discuss sizing, weight, finish, and sound profile.

How do I care for and clean my cymbals?

Avoid touching cymbal surfaces with bare hands where possible — skin oils accelerate tarnishing. Clean with a dedicated cymbal cleaner (we recommend Lizard Spit). Store cymbals in a bag or case when not in use, and never overtighten cymbal wing nuts as this can crack the bell.

Sound & Selection

How do different cymbal characteristics affect the sound?

Thickness / Weight

Heavier = more definition, sustain, and cut with less wash. Lighter = more wash, lower volume.

Size

Larger cymbals produce a lower pitch and longer sustain.

Finish

Brilliant finishes are brighter. Raw or natural finishes produce a darker, drier sound.

Hammering

More hammering = darker, trashier sound. Less = more projection and clarity.

Lathing

Refines the metal, reduces weight, and helps clarify the cymbal’s sound.

Bell Size

A larger bell produces a wider range of higher pitches and a more prominent ping.

What makes a ride ‘crashable’?

Size, weight, finish, and thickness all play a role. Thinner, lighter rides with less lathing tend to open up more easily when crashed.

How do I choose the right cymbal for my playing style?

Darker, thinner cymbals suit jazz and lower-volume playing. Brighter, heavier cymbals cut through in rock and metal. Our Bright Hybrid series suits versatile players, while the Traditional series is ideal for jazz and nuanced playing. If you’re unsure, contact us and we’ll help you find the right fit.

Artists

How do I get endorsed?

First, a clarification — artists endorse brands, not the other way around. An artist endorses a brand by exclusively using and recommending it, helping that brand reach new audiences. In return, the brand offers their product at a reduced price. Visit the Artist page to find out more ↗
